3 tips to improve your Facebook Business Page.

Facebook is full of helpful settings. Use these ideas on your business page to connect to clients.

Add a review and recommendation tab

Let customers add reviews- make sure the Facebook review tab is turned on and moved into the tabs so it can be viewed easily. Did you know you can also embed the recommendations directly onto your website?

To turn Recommendations on or off for your Page:

  1. From your News Feed, click Pages in the left menu.
  2. Go to your Page.
  3. Click Page Settings in the bottom left of your Page.
  4. Click Templates and Tabs in the left menu.
  5. Click to the right of Reviews to turn the tab on or off.

Instructions to tell your clients- and note they can upload a photo too!

  1. Click the Reviews/Recommendations tab.
  2. Click ‘Yes’ to recommend the Page.
  3. Write your recommendation and if you use mobile upload a photo along with the recommendation text.
  4. You can also choose a tag such as great service, amazing staff or similar.
  5. Click Post.

Set up auto-reply on FB messenger so you never miss a message from a client

How to set up an auto reply on Facebook Messenger

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page.
  2. Click Messaging in the left column.
  3. Below Send Instant Replies to anyone who messages your Page, click to select Yes.
  4. To change your instant reply message, click Change, update the message and click Save.

FB Messenger is also a great feature that can be placed directly on your website so customers can message you there too. Ask Morgan at Design by Splash how to place on your website. See example.

Optimize Your Profile Photo

Your profile pic is more important than the cover photo because it appears in:

  • The news feed of your followers
  • Posts on your page’s timeline
  • Replies in comments
  • Comments and posts you make on other pages while using your page
  • Over the cover photo on your timeline

The FB size for your profile photo is 360 x 360 which is completely square. So what do you do if your logo is more rectangular and won’t fit well? I try to think of alternative designs for the client and/or pull one identifying part out of the logo that can be used as an icon to represent the company. Here is an example of Design by Splash original logo and the new FB square profile pic.
